2023 Reflection on Word of the Year: Fortitude

As we wrap up 2023, we find ourselves reflecting on months past and what lies ahead with our community’s journey. 

If you recall, our Personal and Professional Development Coach, Michael “Buck” Buckley. Challenged us to pick a “Word of the Year” in January 2023. Buck asked us to look inward and consider what we need more of or what might improve our lives. The time has come to revisit our Word of the Year for 2023 and explore its impact on The Summit at Chenal Valley Senior Living. Whether you’ve been an active member or are just joining us, this retrospective journey invites us all to celebrate the past year.

In the tapestry of our community at The Summit, every success is a shared victory, and every challenge is an opportunity for growth. The resonant joy of our Grand Openings echoes with the promise of new beginnings and the warmth of a welcoming embrace. The lively gatherings at our Sunday Brunches and Happy Hour events are not just occasions. They are threads of connection that weave a rich fabric of shared moments and cherished memories. 

Witnessing an upswing in occupancy and receiving referrals from our cherished residents speaks volumes about the trust and satisfaction that defines our community. Yet, amid our successes, we acknowledge the challenges that have tested our resolve. In these moments, the word “fortitude” has become more than a guiding principle. Ashared commitment to face adversity with collective strength and unwavering perseverance. 

Together, as a community, we have weathered storms and emerged stronger, creating not just a residence but a haven. A community of family and friends where the bonds are forged in triumphs and challenges. Our journey is about more than occupancy numbers. It is about the lives we touch, the stories we create, and the enduring love that defines The Summit.

Reflecting on the past year, The Summit has truly embodied the essence of our chosen word for 2023 – fortitude. Together, we embraced the power of love, gratitude, and perseverance, crafting a collective narrative that transcends mere words. 

In every shared moment, every act of kindness, and the collective spirit of gratitude, our community became a living testament to the resilience that fortitude imparts. Reminding us that strength, love, gratitude, and perseverance are not just words but our exceptional community’s living, breathing heartbeat.

As we step into the promising horizon of 2024. The Summit is filled with anticipation and excitement for the opportunities ahead. Our collective enthusiasm is fueled by the prospect of welcoming new residents into our community. We look forward to offering them the warmth, care, and love that define The Summit experience. 

A significant milestone on our journey this year is the opening of our new Memory Care Community in February. This addition reflects our unwavering commitment to providing specialized and compassionate care to those who may benefit from tailored memory support services. We eagerly look forward to extending our family, embracing the unique stories, and enriching the lives of each resident who becomes a cherished part of The Summit.

As we bid farewell to 2023, we will carry forward the essence of our Word of the Year into 2024. The successes and strides of our community, the embodiment of our chosen word in our collective actions. These are not just markers in time but a testament to the strength of this community.
