Listening Through Chef Talk

One favorite tradition at The Summit is Chef Talk. Each month, this gathering creates up-close and personal time with residents. It gives the Culinary Director a chance to listen, connect, and better understand the dining experience from their perspective.

During Chef Talk, residents can share concerns, ideas, wants, and needs. Those conversations help make the dining program stronger. They also show residents that their voices matter.

Success in a senior living dining program takes empathy, leadership, and attention to detail. It also takes a service mindset. Team members must balance high culinary standards with individual resident needs and preferences.

A successful team member understands that every interaction matters. Every plate tells a story. Every meal is an opportunity to provide comfort, dignity, and connection.
